I don’t always get it right: for film (B&W) I meter for the shadows and place them on zone III ish… (sorry I know Ansel is not everyone’s guru but) and develop for the highlights. Digital seems to behave (for me anyway) like slide film and I meter the highlights then put them on zone VII or VIII.
All the above can get lost with my terrible scanning technique but I interpreted some advise you gave me in another post and am ‘beating it into submission!!!!’
Sorry but it is like someone asking me about the ‘Bronze Age’ in Oman – I do go on a bit……..
