      I have been using the AF-S Nikkor 35mm f1.4G a lot recently, on both the D800 & my F4 !! (it was a very nice gift)
      Beginning to think it’s a great lens as long as I add a bit of grain to the digital images 😉

      That’s a nice lens. I have the 50mm f1.4 which I like. I mainly shoot with a 24-70mm f2.8. It’s a great lens but the combo is heavy.

      I have been trying to make a decision about replacing my 50mm f1.8 AF.d with a new one (It has become very imprecise both f stop setting & af – age ! ) Did you look at the f1.8 before getting the f1.4 ????

      Hi- no, I just went with the f1.4 for the extra stop. It’s a great lens. The newer f1.8 is supposed to be very good, too.

      P.s,
      The other lens I like on the D800 is my Tokina 35-70 AI-s f2.8 AT-x manual lens which normally sits on my F2SB camera & I think is nearly as old as the camera 🙂
