I hated dates until I came here & had the real thing – not the dried-up offerings we got as children in UK at Xmas……. only good as goat food !
I even have a preference for certain varieties & dhibs on porridge is very yummy.
I have definitely gone native – no hope for me 🙄

Far Worse – you’re eating PORRIDGE in Oman???? Heaven help you. Mum used to say same re fresh dates. Self knew only hideous dried and loathed.
Good stuff once in a while – especially when I am working on one of the mountains.
