These made during my visit to the fort, after checking that it was open !
The village is part of the oasis of old Bahla, it developed alongside the fort and utilised the same water supply; it was also within the forts outer walls.

If we could just see what that village was like in its day!
Very busy, noisy and lots of dark corners (we are talking about Bahla 😉 ) but yes I think Yemen is one of the only places that one could really see this type of place now. Unfortunately Yemen is not a place I would go; to my great regret it is not the safest place in the world.

I love the games light plays in there. Masterfully captured, David! 🙂
Thank Marina,
Early morning light & my trusty Tokina manual focus lens.
David.
Nice series of photos David. You have done a great job on getting the exposure just right. Not easy with the extremes of light in the first two photos.
Thanks Dave,
Ha, another early morning start, on site by around 8-ish, sleepy start to the day 🙂
David.
It is good you could enter. The are all very nice photos. Interesting!
Thanks,
In most cases, as long as you go with a big smile and are respectful of others property, most times it is easy.
David.
Nicely seen! (Have you been gone awhile or have I just missed your posts?)
Thank you Laura,
No, I just get slow sometimes, (holidays are the time when I do switch off, a month with no computer) and if I avoid the TV – bliss.
David.
Oh my….I don’t think I could switch off completely for a month. But it’s probably a good thing. 🙂
