JJC ES-2 Film Digitizing Adapter (clone of Nikon ES-2).

  1. This is a digitised Ilford HP5 Plus negative.

I have been doing tests with a newly acquired JJC ES-2 clone of the Nikon ES-2 film digitiser.

JJC ES-2 Film Digitizing Adapter with 6500K USB LED Light Set, 35mm Negative Film Copying Scanner for Canon Sony Nikon Macro Lens, Convert Negatives to Digital JPEG

.  Click above image for Amazon link.

It works very well and comes with a LED light attachment which the Nikon version does not have.

The setup I used was:

Nikon D800, PK11(a), PK13, Nikkor 55mm F2.8 AIs micro and the slide/film copier.
It is a lot cheaper than the Nikon equivalent (seems made of engineering plastic like the Nikon one)  and includes the LED light attachment along with 5 lens adapters.

  1. Very interesting; the image looks very sharp. After reading your post, I watched an instruction video on YouTube and it looks quite simple. I’ve scanned negatives and slides on my Epson scanner, using attachments. It works well but is very time consuming, and I wouldn’t call it easy. The advantage might be that I can scan at high resolution. But for doing a large number of negatives, your system would be much more efficient.

    1. That’s exactly why I thought it worth testing and the price was right.
I’ve two scanners, 35mm and a flatbed for 6×6 6×4.5 and 4×5 but it takes time.
This setup takes a bit of time getting all aligned but once done it’s only focus that needs confirming.
