What a fabulous spot. That doorway gives it a real local signature, otherwise it could be in southern Europe somewhere.
Yes I would often visit – the problem now is that the place has been targeted for renovation (for that read ‘rebuilt’) all be it with traditional methods; it will still be new….
That is a shame. Though perhaps it will create a new ruin in a century or so…
Looks more like the corner of a castle than a house.
I do see what you mean: but it was definitely built as a house. Must have been quite spectacular when it was in its prime because there is the remains of an extensive garden.
The problem for the original occupants: it is rather isolated and raiding by warring tribes was not uncommon !
