Same as old iron drain covers which were often elegant and yet…who looked? Off to UK till mid May. And BTW we had snow yesterday tho not enough to put in envelope. Today grim grey and cold – think lines from November “No sun, no moon, no proper time of day” ugh

I like the fence detail. I’m quite serious about that!
I should also add the blocks and shapes of tones are fabulous – I like that wavy shadow line at the bottom of the steps – gives it humanity.
I know what you mean – the intricacy and subsequent effort to include it on any woodwork, never fails to amaze me.
