The stark beauty of the desert first thing in the morning – not a footstep to be seen: the air is so clean and cold.
There is probably nowhere on earth like it.
No amount of rain will help here.

Nikon F4 with AF 24mm F2.8 lens set on manual (hyperfocal distance focusing using F16) I cannot remember the last time I used a lens on AF!
T-Max 400 @ 320 and developed in T-max @ 1+4.
Now this is rare for me, remembering all this; but for sand it has proved a relatively trouble free method.

The Rubʿ al-Khali sand desert, covering about 250,000 square miles (650,000 square km) is the largest area of continuous sand in the world. The topography is varied. In the west the elevation is as high as 2,000 feet (610 m) and the sand is fine and soft, while in the east the elevation drops to 600 feet (183 m) with sand dunes, salt flats, and sand sheets. One of the driest regions in the world, it is virtually uninhabited and largely unexplored.
